ABOUT SL: Second Life is an online multimedia platform that allows people to create an avatar for themselves and then interact with other users and user-created content within a multiplayer online virtual world. Developed and owned by the San Francisco–based firm Linden Lab and launched on June 23, 2003, it saw rapid growth for some years and in 2013 it had approximately one million regular users. Growth eventually stabilized, and by the end of 2017 the active user count had declined to "between 800,000 and 900,000". Linden Lab is emphatic that their creation is not a game: "There is no manufactured conflict, no set objective."


ME IN SECOND LIFE AT "THE END OF TIME": I have been in Second Life (SL)since 2012. There I can do and be anything I want. It's art that you not only look at, but you can interact with it, walk through it, and see it from every angle. What makes it real is the emotions from others that you interact with. Like real life (RL), you see things, you see people, there are physics, and movement, like anyting your senses experience. Your imagination fills in any of the blanks without you even realizing it. All of that tied to the emotions of real people there, make it all so real. I've been exposed to new styles and looks for my Avatar, that have also enspired my looks in real life. I've experienced all kinds of LIVE music genres that have expanded my taste in music. I've been able to perform my own music, live, to share with my freinds. I have found love, wonder, fascination, and great people. I have learned scripting and building content, and have actually made money in the world that I was able to cash out in US dollars. It's something you have to experience to fully understand it. I am a manager, and I live at an eight-region estate in SL called "The End of Time" (EOT).
